ProStar Aluminum MIG/TIG Wire & Rod
ProStar Aluminum Welding Wire
Alloy 4043 welding wire is designed for welding 6xxx,
2xxx, and 3xxx series aluminum alloys. It has a lower
melting point than 5xxx alloys and increased silicon
content making it preferable to welders for its fluidity,
weldability, reduce sensitivity to cracking and resultant
bright surface finish.
Alloy 5356 welding wire has good feed-ability when
used as a MIG electrode wire. It is designed to weld
5xxx and 6xxx materials. It is not suitable for service
temperatures exceeding 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
Alloy 5356 is the better choice for materials which will
be anodized after welding as 4043 turns black when
anodized.
