Community is one of our corporate values at Linde, and community engagement at Linde is an integral part of making our world more productive. From volunteerism to charitable contributions, our employees are consistently working to provide significant and lasting value to the community.
This week we’d like to recognize one of our company’s most notable community events and a classic celebration of summertime fun: the annual LG&E Charity Golf Tournament. Organized and hosted by Chris Vihnanek and his team, the annual LG&E Charity Golf Tournament is a fun-filled event enjoyed by our employees, vendors, friends and family where they can compete, hang out, enjoy great food and win an assortment of prizes. Registration costs and funds raised during the tournament benefit the Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
After the tournament’s inauguration in 2003, LG&E was able to donate around $5,000 for Lurie Children’s Hospital. Last year, we were able to donate over $100,000 – our largest donation yet! Additionally, last year (for the first time), Chris Vihnanek and his team worked with Lurie Children’s Hospital to provide Christmas gifts for children spending the holidays in the hospital’s general and hematology/oncology departments.
