At Linde, we are a trusted provider of industrial gases, applications, products and services that support welding, cutting and other processes. Our ProStar® product line includes welding supplies, cutting machines and automation from a large variety of manufacturers, and our strategically distributed plants and hubs allow us to efficiently supply our customers with our full range of industrial and process gases. But our service goes beyond providing high-quality products. We are an overall solutions provider and through our exclusive StarSolver® Productivity Enhancement Program, we work with you to reduce manufacturing costs, increase productivity and improve quality. We also have five R&D centers dedicated to developing new technologies that help you do just that.
Used to create an inert gas shield, argon is often blended with other industrial gases like carbon dioxide, oxygen, helium, hydrogen and nitrogen to enhance arc stability and improve the characteristics of gas metal arc welding. Argon is also the primary gas used for the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW).
Carbon dioxide is most often mixed with argon as a shielding gas used to prevent atmospheric contamination of molten metal in gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process.
Oxygen is used as a plasma cutting gas, an assist gas for laser cutting, and is sometimes added in small quantities to shielding gases for both carbon and stainless steel welding.
A inert industrial gas with high thermal conductivity, helium shields the molten weld pool and prevents oxidation when increased heat input is desired during the welding of metals like aluminum, stainless steel, copper and some magnesium alloys.
We offer a full line of welding supplies and products. From clamps and power tools to arc equipment and protection, we have the welding supplies and equipment you need to work safely and efficiently.
Hydrogen is the lightest of all the gases. Used to enhance plasma welding and cutting operations, it is commonly mixed with argon for welding stainless steel because of its oxide reducing characteristics.
Nitrogen can be used as an assist gas for laser or plasma cutting and as a component of shielding gas for some stainless steel welding applications.
Mostly used for oxy-fuel cutting and brazing applications, acetylene offers the hottest flame temperature of all commercially available fuel gases.
An alternative gas for oxy-fuel cutting, StarFlame C offers safe operation under the harsh conditions of thick cutting carbon steel. This gas can also be used in a CNC oxy-fuel application which can be supplied in a bulk form.
We’ll help you find the right gas for any industrial cutting application. From oxy-fuel to plasma arc to laser cutting, our gases and supply systems can make all the difference in your productivity.
We work with you to select and apply the most cost effective welding process for your needs. From laser to submerged arc and gas metal arc welding, our expertise spans across the board.
Our gases and consumables for brazing and soldering systems help you create strong, reproducible joints by minimizing oxide formation and filler metal flashing. At Linde, we will work with you to determine the best brazing or soldering system to produce the highest-quality joints possible.
Using the StarSolver® solution approach, we will review your current welding practices, analyze the data collected and recommend high quality, low cost solutions. And we’ll work with you every step of the way.
We offer a large inventory of welding products in North America. With 25 strategically located distribution centers, we can guarantee on-time delivery of over 30,000 items from more than 200 of the industry’s best manufacturers.
We want to help you better understand your welding costs and possible opportunities for efficiency improvement. That’s why our metal fabrication lab offers a full range of capabilities from manual, automated and robotic welding systems using a wide range of electric arc welding processes Our development work, analytical tools and product evaluations are designed to help you determine the optimum shielding gas, wire and process combinations for improved productivity, better-quality welds and lower costs.
